I want to send the hugest THANK YOU for creating such a spectacular company, with such spectacular trips and spectacular guides and spectacular energy. I really was blown away, particularly by our guides who are two of the nicest, most competent, interesting, fun, present, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable guides I could have imagined.
As you know from our conversations, I have been working very intensely recently and it has been hard to plan a vacation. Anyway, I didn't really know what to expect since, to be honest, I did not have much time to research trips and I just had a hunch that your company seemed to have a good thing going. But I had no idea that it would turn out to be one of the (truly) most beautiful hikes of my life and, again, the energy of the guides really made the trip unique. It is clear that Kenny has a deep connection to and passion for the region, and his stories really made the mountains and the villages come to life. And Staffan is full of energy and enthusiasm and was a total pleasure as well. I am sure you already know all of this, but I wanted to pass along my feedback for what it's worth.
And mostly I just wanted to pass along my thanks for such a great week. I definitely will be spreading the word and hope to join you again someday.

The whole experience was great - we walked at basically or own pace and because there were two guides we could split up during the day and not feel that we were holding the faster hikers back.

I mostly just wanted to thank you all in person for our wonderful self-guided Engadine trip. Every single part of our trip was perfect, from the lodging to the food to the hiking, maps, trail directions and train schedules. Including the final hike into Soglio where the farmhouse restaurant was open and we got to stop for fresh goat cheese and bread -- then the owner took us out back to meet the goats. We loved every minute of this special trip and are thinking about Italy next. Thank you so much!

I'm writing to tell you how much Anne and I enjoyed the Dolomites Trek. We love to hike. Over the years we have done numerous trips together in the Canadian Rockies, the Sierras in California, the Northern Cascades in Washington State and elsewhere. In addition, I have trekked in Alaska, the Yukon Territory, and the Peruvian Andes. And of course, we did those two trips in Switzerland with Ryder Walker. Anne and I agree that the Dolomites trip was one of the best hiking vacations we've ever experienced. The combination of well thought out hikes and exceptional--and delicious--accommodations was unbeatable.
Among the many highlights was the hike to and stay at the Rifugio Alpe di Tires (a real treat) and the hike through the Travananzes valley. And while all of our hotels were terrific, our three days at La Perla in Corvara were extraordinary.
Thank you for arranging an unforgettable experience.

In a word, everything went smoothly. The trails were great, and the views were fantastic. The hotels were all wonderful, and the meals were exceptional. All the baggage transfers went off without a hitch. Your trail descriptions and maps were great – we had no trouble finding trailheads or staying on course. And best of all, the weather cooperated nicely – we had 6 straight days of beautiful sunshine.
The Engadine valley is truly one of the most picturesque places on earth. A hearty “thank you” to you and the whole crew at Ryder Walker for a great job organizing this fantastic trip.

Good morning. We have had a chance to recover for a bit and I am constantly reminded just how terrific RW guides are. Daniel is intensely competent and reservedly customer focused. I say reservedly because he does so much that does not bubble to the top, yet just "happens". After 6 trips it is easier to see the results of quiet leadership at work. Porter is customer focus---squared. She helped Blythe out during the entire trip (5 eye operations in a year made it difficult to see the rough spots on the trails), yet had plenty of time to ensure the rest of us were safe and indulged adequately. She has a gift that can't be taught without a strong dose of love. Staffan was a real surprise. How does a guy that young and good looking have so much ability, discretion and sense of purpose? I hope circumstances conspire to keep him with RW.
Oh, the route. The Surenen Pass route may be the best we have encountered in our entire tenure with RW.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my inquiries. That 'special attention' from the boss IS what makers Ryder Walker the preeminent purveyor of guided tours: you have set a standard that your staff clearly understands and follows. But you are right when you give recognition to Ken and Staffan and everyone else I've met in your firm. Your company is truly one-of-a-kind and I look forward to the next opportunity to travel with your finest.

Dear Chris,
Mike and I had such a wonderful trip, and your expertise, flexibility, and humor were key to our good time. Thank you so much for arranging alternatives for me each day and for getting Mike over those slick mountain passes. We each had delightful days. Your grace and good humor make you the consummate guide. Thank you for lending your expertise to us.
